Orion Square

Three squares in Szczecin: Szarych Szeregów, Odrodzenia, and Grunwaldzki, reflect the constellation of Orion, corresponding to the stars Mintaka, Alnilam, and Alnitak. The location of the squares and the radial streets not only refer to the constellation but also to the complex of Egyptian pyramids in Giza. The Nile and Odra rivers have similarly arranged channels and main tributaries, and their course resembles the shape of the Milky Way.
