Stefan Żeromski Park

Żeromski Park covers a wide area in the heart of the city centre as an arboretum, with its 177 different species of trees and shrubs. The park is also home to several sculptures including one of the Polish writer Stefan Żeromski, a natural monument (the boulder Adam), and the Gravedigger’s Cottage, a charming little building which used to be home to the administrator of a nearby French cemetery.

Stefan Żeromski was a four times Nobel Prize nominated Polish novelist and dramatist belonging to the Young Poland movement at the turn of the 20th century. He was called the “conscience of Polish literature”.
